Encouraging.

I feel his impact initially will be greater from the bench, but its great to have an option like him who offers something completely different.

He might not be the next Sterling, but could be the next Alphonso Davies

The sooner Pep realize that the better :)

Thought he did ok and clearly has bags of potential.

His control and passing was a wee bit off at the start, which could be nerves. Buy either way, he'll be doing a ton of technical work.

Due to his acceleration I think he's going to be a great presser in the way Alvarez is, but clearly hasn't quite learned the system yet. That will come.

What really excited me was his ability to beat his man... I think that's fantastic.

Played most of the match on the left, which confused me. Or rather, if they see him as an inverted winger, why start him on the right? They didn't seem to be switching wingers after than. I wondered whether that switch had as much to do with Foden as with him?

Anyway, all in all, loads of potential, and great to get a first start.

I just don't understand where the notion that he was poor even come from, honestly. Like what did people see to reach this conclusion? Perhaps your expectations were sky high and as a result a serviceable performance seems "poor". for me he mostly kept the ball, didn't take on his full-backs too unnecessarily and when he did, he did it successfully. Otherwise known as a standard 6/10 performance.

Yet again amazing comments for a lad that has been at the club for one week.

We paid 145 million pounds for two England Internationals and they are allowed a full 12/18 months "settling in" time, yet a young 21 yr old playing in what the same people call "the farmers league" is expected to perform from the off.

Incredible Jim, simply @ucking incredible!

As he said two men on him most of the time. They played him as if it was going to be Grealish. He showed he can get through them through quick footwork and deliver a cross or pass once or twice in the game. He mostly kept the ball and passed as Jack would do. A couple of times lost the ball trying things to beat his man. We do need to take risks occasionally against a packed defence. I'm sure he'll get instructions as to his role from Pep and get better in the team. Some different characteristics for Pep to blend into the side, and the possibility of someone to beat the tight defences or maybe use on the break. Was an OK debut.

He looked a bit clunky at times, but there is no doubt he will be a big asset to us once he settles.

Good debut..... he has something very few has and that is the ability to beat a man in a short amount of space and do this either side of the defender..once he has learnt the Haaland and other forwards movement and becomes more verse in how we play he is going to be very valuable and a provide a way of playing that is slightly different if needed while having the ability to probably fit in with the way we have played in the past.
