Consistency is his biggest weakness, ninety nine percent chance that he will be invisible next game .
I'd say his biggest weakness is his in-match stamina. Pep mentioned when we signed him that the greatest challenge would be getting Doku physically ready for 2-3 matches per week. I think Doku (and much of the squad) have been absolutely gassed through much of this season and you can see that he fades quickly in the second half. Doku still doesnt look physically ready to handle 2-3 starts per week but with the rise of Savinho at left wing and the Marmoush signing, I think we'll soon be seeing the best of Doku as he'll only be needed to start one out of every two or three matches to see out the season.

The break from the team seems to have done him a world of good - he seems to have come back really focused as that might have been his best performance in a City shirt

We have to bring moving players around him like KdB did today. Poor guy was often isolated with a back pass to Gvardiol or dribbling past 3 defenders and reaching Haaland at the far post as his only options

Just not good enough for City.....

Well I read it somewhere.
Some of the abuse he got in his first season was shameful. We could all see he was raw and mistake ridden, but many could see his potential. He's getting better and contributing more each game erasing many of his mistakes he previously had.

He's exciting and a joy to watch.

At the heart of the first 5 goals and nobody else in the squad would have done what he did today. He'll have games where everything comes off for him like today, he'll have games where nothing comes off for him but he'll always be a threat. Have to accept we'll never get that every game from him, he'd be Messi if we did but he's one hell of a weapon to have in the squad.

great performance. If we see something along that quality against a top side, we'll know we're looking at serious progression. But i dont want to take away from a very effective performance.

+1.

But the problem with Doku is that he's extremely inconsistent - to the point where I would not want him to start against a top side. He's sometimes world class, other times, he's shite - taking on too many opponents, or beating his defenders only to fail to deliver a cross or accurate shot on goal.

BTW - in case you think I'm a Doku-hater - Doku was my man-of-the-match in several games, Ipswich included.

dont mind if you are or arent !

i agree with his inconsistency, and i was really happy that his game developed despite a tricky start with being doubled up on

I couldn't understand the abuse at matches. I had to ask , to confirm it was him they were having a go at.
Many people need a boo boy and he was convenient in a side chasing a 4th Premier League title.

Doku has been fucking awful at times. That fans boo-ed him was, IMO, understandable - although booing a player in a live game is something I wouldn't do - as it's bound to shake his confidence.

The problem with him has always been decision making and use of the ball. Now obviously his last 2 games have been against poor opposition but i have little doubt he can do that against good sides. Osman made good points on motd that too often this year we’ve got the ball to him against 2/3 men and just basically left him to it. Yesterday he had people especially KDB making runs in between centre halves and fullbacks for him.

The passes he played were hardly difficult but he picked the right pass and got his head up consistently. The only way to stop that is if teams start leaving fullbacks one v one against him. I don’t think many fullbacks in the world would fancy that against Doku. He’s definitely got the ability to do what he’s done recently against top sides. Obviously now he’s got to go and do it! Being fair you’d have to say Forest are right up there defensively and he was brilliant against them.
