The speed (fucking slow) of our play, is IMO the biggest factor of how influential our wingers are. All game it was this fucking painful, lethargic, tortoise-like build up, which allowed Forest to get plenty behind the ball and double-team both wingers. Doku and Sav, want/need the ball early. In recent games we have done that. Today it was back to the slow, turgid shite and surprise, surprise, both are nullified.

This true but even with that doku needs to do better, he picks it up for the odd game here or there but most of the time he just can't find a man under any circumstances and it's brutal to watch.

Come on, you can't accuse Doku of not taking his man on, yes his final ball needs to be better but a lot of times it's almost impossible to find any blue shirt, Haaland always stands at the far post and nobody attacks the front post, hardly anyone makes a late run from midfield either, and the full backs don't overlap which means he can't cut in and shoot because there is no space, again he should do better but this style just doesn't help them at all.

He had one dribble by like 2 or 3 players where he shot from distance.

But he is so wide and isolated, he hardly gets to shoot, and the ones he takes are not good opportunities.

I like him. He, and Savio, are only really effective if the rest of the team get the ball to them with the right timing. The rest of the team need to draw in defenders so they get a shot at a 1:1 with the defence is transition. There is very little point being up against two defenders with a settled defence in position waiting for the cross, and with no one attacking the box.

we cannot afford wingers with so poor end product as Doku, Grealish etc.
we can afford them when Foden, KDB, Gundogan, Haaland, Rodri, Alvarez, Mahrez etc all firing and then maybe one of the wingers can afford to pull in shit numbers as it is balanced out by others.
but when wingers need to balance out what others dont provide anymore, and we get something like 3-4 goals in PL all season from Savinho, Doku, Grealish (combined!) thats is a big fucking joke. any Ipswich or Leicester winger could do that for us over a season.
dont think Doku improved his rawness from day since he joined. more than 18 months later he has still issues, great first trick then his idea is bad or execution is even worse.

to go from Sterling, Mahrez to Doku, Savinho ad this version of Grealish, its almost as bad as go from Fernandinho, David Silva, Yaya to veteran past it KDB, Kovacic, Lewis midfield. down to Txiki a lot as he was tasked with squad planning.

I know he's always trying to create something but I thought he gave the ball away a lot today and didn't always track back as well as he could. Haaland didn't get much service today from either side or the middle. Quite a lacklustre performance all round.

What does he actually bring to the team besides feints and step overs? Wow - he had the worst defending right back on skates but still did nothing.

No end product, no control in possession and no tracking back. Genuinely would rather Grealish at left wing because he at least brings 2 out of the 3.
