No there isn't, he'll get worse when he loses his yard of pace as he gets a little older, or when opposition start doubling up on him
I don’t think he’s fast. He always gets caught up when running in a foot race in space. Hes just got cracking body swerves and trickery to stand a player still and move the ball past him.

He’s easily… by an absolute MILE!… the best player in the league, possibly the world, at getting past a player

However, the final thing he does (cross, pass, pull back, shot) is usually terrible.

There’s a potentially top class player in there, but he needs to improve his final act a hell of a lot.
That is Doku's entire career (so far) in a sentence. Same thing everyone said at Rennes, and same thing is happening here. He's got immense raw pace and dribbling ability, but the decision-making and end product is way, way off.

He set up his teamates in the first half they should have scored. Not the first match this has happened. It is the impotence of Foden and Haaland that is the problem not Doku. I am more worried about Savio on the other side.

Sometimes, players work on it and they get it right as they mature.

Of course, sometimes players never get it to click. But if Doku does, he’ll be lethal.

Yeah I agreed, but that will slow down with age and when he becomes a target for opposition.

Then what? He's got nothing else about his game and that's the problem

I felt Forest double up on both sides this lunchtime.
Clearly felt if they choked the width we didn't have anything inside to worry about.
I wish Doku and Savinho would try to hit the line more, Savinho does it occasionally, but the coaching appears to be "come back inside with it"

Does he ever do any skills other than waggle his leg one way and run the other, he has one trick and even that doesn't work, not a winger who would get regular game time for a teak winning the league.

What a stupid statement haha.

‘He’s got one trick and even that doesn’t work’

How does a player with no trickery and his one trick doesn’t work end up topping dribble charts?

Today he wasn’t great but he tried unlike the others. They doubled up on him from minute one. So that tells you teams give him special treatment due to him being do good at a 1 v 1.

Overall it was an average performance from Doku but he was still our best attacking player.

Doku played well under the circumstances. He was double and sometimes triple marked constantly, forest identified him as the threat and made sure he was shut down. That's a win whenever any team does that as it creates space for others.

The problem is, none of our players bothered to utilise the space created from that, we just kept giving it to Doku and expected him to beat 2 or 3 men instead of allowing him to occupy 2 men and exploiting the free man elsewhere.

I think anybody laying into Doku has a poor understanding of the game. He did his role.

Not saying he was good, because he wasn’t, but the amount of times I saw him pass the ball to a teammate and then sprint into what would be 30 yards of space only for the teammate to ignore the simple give-and-go and turn backwards instead was wild

It is a simple game. Pass and move. Play the ball into space ahead of someone. Advance up the field

Come on, you can't accuse Doku of not taking his man on, yes his final ball needs to be better but a lot of times it's almost impossible to find any blue shirt, Haaland always stands at the far post and nobody attacks the front post, hardly anyone makes a late run from midfield either, and the full backs don't overlap which means he can't cut in and shoot because there is no space, again he should do better but this style just doesn't help them at all.
He gets the opportunity to go 1 on 1 lots of times but prefers to hold the ball allowing defenders to double up.
I'm sure Haaland is being told to go far post but neither winger ever looks like sending a cross there.
