Gaddem! Talk about not letting go. It's been 3 years. Let that one go.Shits it in tight spot. He does not handle pressure very well. Handed Spurs the QF tie 3 years ago.
He is not useless in the air. Actually he is quite good. His tackling is decent and he is not particularly slow.Laporte is on a par with Lindeloff. Useless in the air, weak in the tackle, slow as hell.
You did describe Lindelof well though.

I'm inclined to agree but it's not going to happen.Get Rudiger,a proper defender,as a replacement.
If he was to turn up at City in the summer, I reckon quite a few on here would completely lose the plot!
I think he has run his course at city and been a good servant but he is found wanting in the he big games and makes mistakes which cost us . Salah at anfield terrorised him and probably will have him again at home which could cost us . For a team as good as we are we cannot carry people anymore .

Each and every player is entitled to have bad games and Laporte is no different. He’s not the defender he once was but there is certainly a place for him at the club. I don’t see how we replace him without taking a major gamble on someone?

I believe that stones and Dias are the number 1 partnership but that hardly happens now .I think that’s overly harsh. Salah terrorises most defences.

I only say that because the player he once was (pre injury) was one of the best CBs in the world. Now he is a very good CB but probably no longer in the world class bracket.You just said he is not the player he was so can he be good enough for our club mate . I agree that the Stones and Dias partnership has shown to be our best, but Laporte will not settle for being the out and out number 3 CB here, when he can walk into the starting line up of most big clubs in Europe.
If we freeze Laporte out, he goes and Ake becomes our 3rd CB, for me that is just too big a drop off in quality when the manager likes to rotate CBs. We have to have to find a way to keep all of Stones, Dias and Laporte happy. Ake can’t play 20+ Prem games season without us seeing a drop in quality at the back.

What I should say is everything’s great keep every player we’ve got even though sone are clearly not good enough but fuck it let’s not keep evolving with he squad and stick with what we have . This is a football club and players do get moved on from time to time I mean if most on here had there way we would never sell anyone.
