You would think at some point, given that every player thread has a recurring theme of criticisms that the players don't play the ball quickly enough allowing the other team to get back into position, that we'd accept that they're under instruction not to because we don't want the ball come back at us just as quickly.

Yeah it's like with Rodri. They aren't playing it forwards more frequently or faster because then we'd just lose it.

We didn't have a choice due to all the injuries but this guy is never an elite defender. Far too many errors in his game and should be 3rd/4th choice when everyone is fit.

Both him and Dias defend the same way where they just jockey an attacker back almost into our own goal. Can't stand it.

The penalty was unlucky, jogging back and watching Vicinius for 60 yards was the real head scratcher

I can kind if understand it's his job to mark Benzema there.. Could have been a lack of comms where Zinny could/should have told him to go... The big one was where on earth was Dias when that goal happened?

I don’t trust him anymore to just defend. Remember when everyone said that Gundo is passive and apprehensive because of his previous injuries? Well that’s Laporte now, and he is doing it as a fucking CB.

I love him on the ball, maybe the best CB in possession in world football and we gain a lot from it in PL games against shite whose only intention is to try and get a 0-0. You can’t have a defender who can’t/won’t defend at this level. It’s just asking for trouble.

He’s so hesitant & slow at times. Been poor this season except for a few few good games. Rate his season at a 4/5 out of 10

Dias was in Madrid's half.
