The oddest thing for me was that he has looked really sharp in the previous preseason games. Then today he looked as rusty as the rest. That being said, he still created the goal.

I know he scored at Anfield last season but it never seems like he has a standout game against this mob. Feel like it's guys like Bernardo or Foden who tend to be more instrumental in these matches. Am I being unfair? Or is my memory going?

Kevin was one of our best players in the 2:2 at the Etihad, if not the best player in that game.

Rusty today, bad ball controll at times, he'll be fine.

Fair enough. That's the one in recent times that I didn't manage to see the 90 minutes, just brief highlights.

Thought he played well in first half and then faded in the 2nd
He was awful first half. Misplaced passes, some poor decision-making and losing the ball a lot. It's puzzling how he was so good in the pre-season games but this game he was so off it.

Of course the team as a whole was poor. It was like Liverpool's intensity (they were playing like they were trying to win a UCL final) shocked the City players and they forgot how to play with their usual cohesion. Of course everyone will improve going forward.

I don't think that he looked very sharp in the last game. He had some poor first touch, lost the procession a bit more often, but produced some very excellent moment of magic. The difference is that without lewandowski Bayern was not able to punish us from those little errors.

I thought exactly the same, in the earlier pre season he looked, lean , happy, fit and very hungry.

Yesterday he simply was way off the pace.

A lot of throwing his arms about at Haaland up top who was making runs for him - maybe making them too soon before the pass was ready?

It’ll come and when it does, it’ll be a joy

Yeah, erm, nowhere fucking near season-ready. Despite nearly everything going through him, he was so far off the pace it was painful.

Yeah he was frustrated with haaland a lot. It will come but kdb easily gets frustrated nothing new in it. I think that's the reason player's don't pick him up as first captain.

I wasn't too surprised the team looked off it. I've heard the training over last few days hasn't been the usual technical coaching and mainly conditioning and weight dropping/fitness. Add into that the lack of match practice etc it was to be expected. I'm sure next week will be a tough match but a more complete performance.

Hate these slow starts to a season we seem to have. Always put me in a bad mood while on holiday. KDB was poor yesterday, as was Grealish, Cancelo, Rodri, Walker and Mahrez.
