1894 Group: Champions League singing section

You can still join the singing section for the next two games if you're keen. The link to do so is on the first page.

Been chipping away at this now 5 seasons, to be honest even though we hit a brick wall I keep getting up and thinking it will work eventually.

It takes a few years for fans to realise what it is that makes an atmosphere click, my opinion as to what goes wrong with the atmosphere changes as I hear and learn more every season.

We have a great relationship with one particular dept at the club, they are as keen as us for singing. You have to have a bond with the club to get passed our health and safety restrictions and store flags, get things passed through security. But at the same time we have to be independent to.

One of the guys on this thread said to me two years ago "fans don't like change"... Its been the truest one liner I have heard in 5 years.. We have to change with the times and security and health and safety, these hurdles are always going to be there so we work round it and do our bit. Its easy to stand there and say look at tourists, look at expensive beer, we cant hang banners etc. But get passed that and think "right but we can do that and change"

Its all about sticking together, singing, enjoying the game win or lose. Thanks to everybody for joining in on the CL nights when we get blocked seats. If we can make this grow and get to 250 we can get the place bouncing just like 300 Lyon fans and Monaco fans have done. Its the same stadium and restrictions those fans have so no reason why 250 of us cant do it.
Keep at it mate, it will pay off eventually.

The club need to help as well though. Stop with the loud music and adverts pre-game, displays should be fan lead ONLY with no flags or banners from the club anywhere at all in the entire stadium (too cheesy!), and finally give us a proper stand at some point.

Do you think Spurs have 18000 singers at WHL ready to move in to the new giant stand? No chance. But over five years they might have that stand rocking and it will be one of the best in Europe.

Keep going, never give up, your hard work will pay off!

I know the flag displays are a massive part of what 1894 do and I think they look great and always try to get involved but maybe trying these champions league sections in SS3 would be an idea. 115 and 1894 are always trying but the main problems are sustaining songs for more than 2 rounds and getting the rest of the ground or the rest of the stand to join in.
If all of the south stand sang together with the kippax aswell it'd be as loud as anywhere in this country.
when SS3 join in songs immediately get 80% louder cos they spread all across the ground off the roof. When 115 are singing those in 118 onwards simply cant hear what is being sung unless every person in 115 is up for it. This is why the derby and liverpool was so good last year but the deader games are as dead as they are.

Nice one, yes will keep going.

Agree with you there in the loud music and pre match adverts, it is like we are trying to hard at club level, it needs to be natural not cheesey. And less flags at the side of the pitch to.

Right about spurs to, they don't have any fan groups at all, so lets see how they organise singers in the new giant stand. The potential is there for a great atmosphere but I reckon it wont work that way unless they have had a good shake up and re organise of fans. Do clubs do this in London, do they F**k haha

I know what you mean with trying singers in SS3. Try grouping up there for a game.

Main issue is fan numbers. If 200 fans came forward we could say right 30 at the front of 115 to hold up banners and use telescopics, use drop down banners. Then 170 go in SS3. Then you get a visual and good singers in SS3 which could be carried to 115 at the front to get that block going.

If we got 200 names and season card numbers for CL games we could do this.

Our two issues also are flags aren't allowed in SS3 from security and we are slightly limited with seat grouping as fans have season cards with cup scheme so the seats aren't available to group as much as we would like.

Need some pre-match singing at City square so everyone knows the words to some newer chants.

Do most that bother singing frequent city square?. Honestly have no idea on that.

Also you only need the words to the edin song tbf ;-)

Honestly though cup games suffer from the many non league SC holders in areas that sometimes sing (SSL 118-120) on league games.

I have my normal seat as does maybe 8 others on a cup night, rest are first timers, or people relocated that moan about standing up or that they prefer their usual seat, none bother joining in, even with "come on City"

How would you do with this with two season cards who sit together? We want to do it but obviously want to be next eachother

Its quiet casual when we get the tickets, request two tickets together when you give details in to the email from 1894 ( card number and name ). Im saying its casual because between the lot of us we are floating about stood up, bunching up, so im often stood in about three different places throughout the game.

Where are you normally on league games ?

Click the link on the first page of this thread, enter details for first person and then do the same for second person. DM me your names and I'll ask club to make sure you're together... it's pretty flexible in the singing section though, you'd be fine bunching in with whoever, especially if it's only 2 of you.
