People need to remember Alvarez didn't have friggin extended break this year, we need to be careful to manage his minute or he will get burnout. Also he playing for World Cup and seems have very important role in there so no break for him during World Cup either.

We need him to be able to play for full season and not getting burnout at the end of season.
I honestly don't think coming on as a 20 minute sub is all that difficult.

It will not change the game that much tbh, the momentum on theirs when they score the equalizer. We playing with much pressure if the opposition supporter rallying their team to raise their belief to fight us, they have been very poor form earlier start of season, so this game against City need to be mean something for atleast one poin to be taken for them.

Could Alvarez be Gundogan's replacement next season?

If so maybe we'll get another striker in the summer? Or even in the winter window?

(By the way I'm asking this because maybe Alvarez is even better than we imagined and can be the type of midfielder who scores for fun)
In the ability to get into the right spot in the box and shoot, perhaps. But he is probably not the passing control mid Gundo is.

It is striking, the similarities in style between them. You can just picture Kun scoring those two goals that Jools got last night.

That's what we are going with? Jools? I saw Alvi used earlier and wasn't too into it. But Jools I can work with :)

Very good point.

This lad has played a lot of football and with the World Cup will have to be managed well if he does not burn out by Christmas.

Which is precisely why Pep is manager and not any of us on the match day thread screaming for subs.

The bigger picture is always there whether we see it or not.

Like the look of this lad though.

Here's a theory ... Argie Julian fans have observed that Alvarez looks like he's bulked up since joining City. Maybe he's taking a backseat because he's not yet adapted to Pep's stringent weight rules. hmmm

But we are observing that he has bulked up in a good way. All muscle. I don't know if it is the difference of going from River's black shorts to City's white ones, but his legs look fricking massive now.

One of the first pics of Pep and Julian together is of Pep patting Julian's belly - still gets used often. Argie pundits and fans took this as a 'fatherly' gesture. Always felt it was ruthless Pep letting Julian know that he has work to do getting leaner.

He seems fit enough:

And if we are going by how much he runs during games, I don't see any problem with his fitness level on that regard either, tbh. ×D
