Starting to get the goals his displays deserve. Get him minutes on the wings when Haaland is fit, his energy offers so much and its the only way we keep this lad happy long term.
In my opinion sending Alvarez to the wings is not the best option for him, i think he and Haaland should play closer to eachother and closer to the area, Alvarez is perfectly capable of falling back in order to link with the other players and feed Haaland as well.

When I say the wings that's more of a default defensive shape, I'm not suggesting he hugs the line and stretches the game like mahrez for example. He would come in a lot more narrow in possession and get himself into the back post area of the pitch when the balls on the left. Point is, he can be on the pitch with Haaland and we should see more of it.

Tevez-esque. He's better than Jesus at it. Jesus ran a lot, but rarely actually won the ball. Alvarez turns it over a couple of times per game.
He's better than Jesus at being relentless, but Jesus was smarter (although there is no reason why Alvarez can't match or surpass it with time)

Jesus was brilliant at blocking passing lanes and forcing teams into booting long so that we could restart possession, which is more in line with how Pep teams press. It wasn't about directly turning over possession because that was a more high-risk/high-reward way of pressing.

Lovely little player, will fight to the end.

Shades of former greats, but more than capable of losing the comparisons.

Yep,a top signing, who has very quickly clearly become a fan and dressing room favourite.

Great performance from him. He stayed more central and didn't look to come deep onto the ball too much, so was always in an attacking position. There are still times he loses the ball a bit easily, but you can see from the amount of energy he gives that he will work his arse off to improve. He is going to be one hell of a player. I do love our Argentinian signings!
