He reminds me of Aguero so much.

The tenacity, the finishing. Him and Haaland partnership, wowsers!

I think it's got to the point where he has to start.

His work rate and energy are what we need and his finishing is top class.

If he starts it'll make defences more honest, they'll have to concentrate on him as well as Erling, or else he'll make them pay.

I think thats a waste to be honest. Hes too good a finisher to be shoe horned in elsewhere. Its a conundrum at the moment

It shouldn’t be. Most top sides have at least two good forwards, Haaland can’t play every minute of every game. And sometimes we can start with two up front, no reason why not.

Convert him to a midfielder ??
I'd put him behind Haaland and let him play like he did yesterday.

I'd luv to see this team.
I'd drop a defender but play our three best CH's at the back with Rodri holding, Bernie and Phil box to box and then let Kev, Grealish and Alvarez roam around behind Erling.

..........Ederson.........
Stones....Dias.......Ake
...........Rodri...........
Bernardo...........Foden
............KDB.............
Alvarez...........Grealish
..........Haaland..........

"Raumdeuter or space interpreter is a role in which the player has two main objectives. First, find the space in the opposition’s defence. Second, exploit the space. The player does not occupy a fixed place; his position on the pitch is determined by where the space is. One thing is sure, most of his play occurs in the attacking third of the pitch."

i didnt so stand down, sergio is a legend here and jules is just starting and is currently more like tevez
In what world is it an 'insult' to hope or suggest that a young player could become better than another player in the future? If he'd said "He's got a way better all-round game than Aguero" or "His runs make Aguero look lazy" then fine. But he didn't. He inferred that "with luck", Julian could have that kind of potential because of his great skillet.

It's not an attack on Sergio in the slightest. In fact, it's a compliment to both players. Kun set the bar so incredibly high that we can only dream of having more players who can reach those kinds of standards. And the very idea that Julian might eventually get there is also a high level of praise for the lad and the hard work he's put in so far.

Certain posters here seem to take any compliment of one player as a terrible attack on another. It's like the Ederson/Ortega situation. We should root for all our players and hope they can all be the best they can be. There's nothing wrong with that.

I hope the next CB we sign is better than Vinny. Does that mean I'm calling Vinny shit or tarnishing his legacy? Of course not. He's my favourite player of all time. I just hope and wish for every City player to be amazing and for us to keep on raising that bar. It doesn't take anything away from the legends who have already made their names in City history and will never be forgotten.

Well, when someone compares Aguero with Alvarez and you say "don't insult Aguero" it doesn't convey a very nice message towards Julian. But i get your point mate, don't worry.

He is at his best when playing with another striker ,I have not been impressed with him when he has started as a lone striker ,does not have the raw pace and physicality to play as a lone striker.

He's rarely had any feed for clear shots when he played as the only striker, i saw him many times having to feed himself from scraps (many of them from mistakes or bad clearances from the opponent).

Can't really judge him as a lone striker from the sparingly minutes he got there playing on B City sides.

Julián's best performances of his career have come as a lone striker, both in River and with Argentina.
