Alvarez has shown he has the press, the energy and class on the ball to start for the first team. It was only a small thing, but his intelligence to play the ball back to Bernardo for Haaland's second really impressed me - he could have been greedy & tried himself. I'd start him instead of Mahrez.

Pep: Everyone is talking about Erling, but Julian is exceptional.

Personally, I'm waiting for the games in which Pep starts with Haaland, Foden and Alvarez in attack: will be the youngest attack in the league, and the best.

Also very risky and prone to be counter attack, need some balance and one of them to slow down the game so we attack in our term rather than opposition just like Newcastle did two games ago.

Alvarez can press much better than Mahrez and Grealish. If anything, our high press is likely to be more efficient with Alvarez than with Mahrez/Grealish. Alvarez is like Jesus in that regard.

We had Bernado playing on the right that day. Not somebody who doesn’t press or keep the ball well. Leave Walker in field against teams with a rapid left winger and there’s your problem no matter who are wide forwards are.

Where are all those who said Alvarez was destined to go out on loan gone? (mercifully Brazilian Gus no longer posting his nonsense!)
Really like the look of him.
He presses at least as good as Jesus did and clearly has excellent football intelligence.
Brilliant signing and a great foil and/or alternative to Haaland.
Well done City (again!)
