He did remind me of Aguero with that goal, and I think it's the sheer fucking confidence that did it. He knew that with enough power he would score. Lots of our forwards over the last few years would have overthought it, tried to squeeze it in between the keeper and the post and gone wide. Alvarez just smashed it.

I was overly harsh on him in recent appearances, I think he just needs to be playing with our strongest team to be at his best, which is hardly a surprise.

Are you trying to say

"Sorry"

Aguero-esque goal. Some really good combinations and plays. He still needs to improve his first touch a lot, but he will because he is technically a very gifted player. Exciting times ahead.
Finish was a lot like Kun's at old toilet in 2013

Lots to admire about him and more importantly lots more to come from him. Good lad.

Unreal today unfortunate to play in so many games where we go man down
Or where the other teams only plays near their own area (or even teams that play 11 vs 10 and still keep playing near their own area, like Copenhagen)

I would like to see us play like we did in the 2nd half against Sevilla a bit more often. I think if we get the width from the full backs instead of the forwards, we could have Foden and Alvarez playing more inside and closer to Haaland.
If teams sit back, I think the 4231 with double wide fullbacks like you said, is the best.

It gives us extra options and lets us overload, leaving 4 back (2CBs and 2 DMs), but that's fine they don't need protection when teams play like Sevilla.

If teams have a go at us, that's when I think our 433 inverted fullbacks makes sense, then the wingers hold the width and one fullback tucks in giving us the 5 defense - 5 attack Pep likes, but its completely unecessary when teams sit back as that's a waste to have 5 defense.
