I don't mind Alvarez leaving if we bring Olmo in.
That role Pep was trying to shoe Alvarez in (behind the striking and dropping into midfield) is tailor made for Olmo.
(Olmo) can score, can assist, can play out wide and is technically way superior than Alvarez.

It's not same position.

Olmo could be Foden.

Álvarez is a good contribution as a substitute, but not to be the future starting 9.

He can't be Lewandovski in Bayern, Shevshenko in Milan or Haaland in City.

At the same time Álvarez feels that he deserves more.

He is condemned to leave.
 
Any top employer would not deny their employee such an opportunity. We stand for something, and treating players well, and giving them every chance to reach the top of their profession, is just a part of that.
Of course but the kid has played non stop for a long time, he needs a rest sometime
