Sky sports have just had David bicks sports finance expert telling the presenter what he doesn't want to hear, saying city are being very shrewd and stating that our beloved sheik what a really brilliant business man he is, to the extent they swiftly moved to their get out clause advertisements?
I need more details! What exactly did he say? How did he feel we are being shrewd?

The club are really pushing the sale of slippers.
Haha! Did the expert put his feet on the SSN desk and show them off?

David Bick, a sports finance expert was just on SSN.

Spoke very positively about these figures.

Said that we very canny, and based on the figures it's very hard not to see as as one of the top one or two clubs in the country financially.
In 3 years time, when we're getting the 2013/14 accounts and we're second only to the rags (assuming the Glazers haven't bankrupted them in the meantime) people will realise just how canny the Sheikh has been.

Am I right in thinking that under 'Exceptional Items' on page 76 there's a provision for the possible loss of about £29M on Tevez? Plus another £5M or so in costs?

The £29m is described as "impairment of players' registrations", so plural. Will probably also include players like Adebayor, Bridge etc. Interestingly, the £5m is described as "Provision for disputed employment costs settlement".

Note 25 is quite interesting. Of the £194m loss, £113m relates to amortisation and impairment of players' registrations. That figure should start to decline substantially now that the major recruitment is complete (albeit Aguero & Nasri will not be included.)

We are already £53.6m down for this season due to balance from player transfers in the summer - definitely need a good run in the Champions League.

The losses will surely halve next time? CL football + increased revenue again + Etihad deal + less players signed than in the period of the next one. Can't wait to see next year's spin on "City's losses halved" by Fergie boys like Mark Ogden.

That £29m won't include Tevez as his problems didn't really surface until this financial year. It will be the likes of Jo, Adebayor, Bridge & Santa Cruz, where htere is no hope of getting back anything like what we paid for them.

The £5m will be for Hughes and his back-room staff.

It doesn't include the etihad deal or the champs league money.

Actually we look quite healthy when you factor in growth for next year with this.
That's good then, right?

£155m of that loss was down to signing of players.
If you mean transfer fees, we don't show those in the Profit & Loss Account.

We must do. Are they called something different?

They turn up on the balance sheets..but basically you don´t have a profit or loss until you sell them.
