Is he 31 now and shows no signs of slowing down, at least 3 more good years in him , at City hopefully.
Spot on this. I personally think Kyle is City's most improved player this season and the best RB in the LeagueI think Walker is having his best season for us.
For a while, his default attacking ball was square, or backwards to John Stones.
His confidence has rocketed, as has his ability to turn defence into a quick attack e.g. his diagonal cross field balls to Grealish/Foden.
He is also now recreating his overlaps which he had stopped doing so frequently.
As with the rest of the squad, he looks so comfortable on the ball.
Together with his (still) lightening pace, he is the perfect 3rd defender when Cancelo often moves into midfield.
Obviously he is not as highly rated in the Media as Trent & Reece, but I reckon Southgate still quite rightly, thinks he is the best right back...
50m was a crazy price to pay but he has proved to be a bargain, superb player, superb attitude and a huge part of our success. His consistency is unmatched. He will be a bigger loss than all the recent club legends when he does leave imo.
Just seen the comments and I 100% agree with them. I have been critical of Walker in the past but this season he is in the form of his life. We’ve always known he was a good defender with the occasional brain-fart thrown in, but he looks a completely different player on the ball this season. No longer is every ball a 5 yard square pass to the CB. Really, really impressed with him.Just great to hear Pep's comments, today, about just how good Kyle has been recently.
