It was a poor decision but to be fair he made up for it afterwards. It was his run that lead to the Alvarez chance and his desire to win the ball back that lead to Rodri's winner.

I'm not a big fan of him playing high and wide though. It's a big contrast to seeing Mahrez receive the ball out there knowing he'll control it first time and be able to progress the attack quickly. Walker's inferior technical ability means he's more likely to miscontrol it and needs more touches before he can pass it. It's just not as slick and the move is more likely to break down is basically what I'm saying. It also puts more responsibility on him to cross which we all know isn't his strongest asset. I prefer him on the right of the back three like how we used him towards the end of last season where he can focus primarily on defending.

Great defensively but doesn't offer much in possession. He is the best in the business against some of the best players in the world, but not really needed against the likes of Sheffield. Bad mistake today, but these things happen to everyone every now and again, and his reaction was phenomenal. He was inspired thereafter and largely responsible for that 2nd goal for us.

He made a mistake but responded brilliantly will be massive for us again this season especially in champions league

Great servant to the club. Gives his all. Defying the years with his pace. Overlapping on the wing that gives an option that we would otherwise never have. Good lad. Etc.
I will just never see him as, naturally, a captain. Does anybody think for one second that Kev would have tried to backheel the ball when you're leading by the single goal at that point in the game? Would he fuck.
I can think of at least four others who are more naturally captains, and that's in the absence of Kev (who I don't actually see as very naturally a captain, either, although it falls more naturally on his shoulders than on Kyle's).
Pep — please don't do it. There are other ways of letting Walker know that we need and appreciate him, and that it's time for him to sign that contract.

He's lost half a yard. As soon as he loses a full yard he's a gonner. He was always been prone to catastrophic brain farts (e.g wigan away in the cup that got us knocked out), but he seemed to iron them out or keep them to a minimum over the past few years, but I thought he looked a liability even before that catastrophic brain fart moment today.

See how he gets on this season but if he's got another two years after this one I don't think they'll be pretty. Definitely not the second year
