I understood why he was on the pitch yesterday
I think Rico is great and I'd prefer him over Walker at this point, but I'd also prefer Walker to deal with the pace of Martinelli. That was basically the reason Walker was on the pitch.

I don't buy it. Rico did just fine against Nkunku, Neto, and Kudus all more dangerous than Martinelli...I understood why he was on the pitch yesterday

Yes he was poor for their 2nd goal but the under estimation of his skills shows how little many people understand the game.
The professionals recognise his worth hence him being in the PFA team of year again last season and also the Euros team of tournament.

Martinelli just wouldn't chase him for the ball knowing he wasn't going to win the race, I thought Walker had a good game if Oliver hadn't have sold him out he would have been in position to prevent the goal.

If there ever was marking mismatchCome on mate. Doku was nowhere to be seen when Gabriel headed the earlier one.
I'm not saying Walker did well but Doku might as well have been on the bench for the first header.

If I had a dollar for every time, 'Walker had a good game except for x mistake that cost us a goal'...Martinelli just wouldn't chase him for the ball knowing he wasn't going to win the race, I thought Walker had a good game if Oliver hadn't have sold him out he would have been in position to prevent the goal.

It was the refs mistake not Kyles, most goals are conceded through a defensive mistake and he's a defender.

Once Arse we’re down to ten men and content to simply sit back and defend en masse, we needed Rico on for Walker as Walker offers nothing offensively.
