2 | Kyle Walker - 2024/25

I get the impression that he's over compensating as he knows his pace is going but he doesn't want to get done for pace after making a career from avoiding that.

It cannot be but It comes across as his priority is preservating that over actual defending at times.

The amount of space he was affording his man was crazy.

I'm going to afford him the benefit of the doubt though as we're lead to believe he's not currently properly fit. He won't get that post internationals though, especially as it seems he's going with England and not withdrawing.

He'll be tasked with marking Son in our next game, needs to perform.

Indeed-but he’s obviously not fit-and that is a problem. He needs to regain his fitness asap.
Fitness, composure, positional awareness all need to improve. That's a big ask at his age with his distractions.

It’s easy to forget (not for me) that he was dropped from the side during the treble season and it’s what changed our fortunes.

We moved Stones there - or Akanji - and we excelled with elegance, control and defensive stability. He was kept back for rapid wingers and that was it.

Then he threw a paddy, threatened to leave and was rewarded with a new contract, more undeserved minutes and the captaincy.

He’s not been at his best for a few seasons. In my opinion anyway. Defends arrogantly, jogs when attackers are sprinting - did it last week and for the first goal today.

Fed up of the clown.
Spot on mate. Lets not forget he was dropped for the UCL Final and Akanje excelled.

He's not the same and I'd again look for a top RB

Christ that last paragraph is going to give me nightmares.

State of it. Leading up to their first goal. Not even concentrating on his winger who he then leaves alone for the second ball from the cross.
