20 games in....Title race back on?

We whinge about our defence when the main challengers have Moses at right back and a midfielder who still wouldn't get in our best xi at left back.

Simply we should be able to do it. We're not handicapped or transitioning, we're just under performing horribly.

Averaging over 2 points a game and 12 from the last 15 is not in any way shape or form, performing "horribly".

It's not really the results it's the periods of laziness and lack of harmony and synergy in the team. Very few players are playing at their best level.

It'd be hard to pick a standout player of the season so far.

Yet, we are still getting results. that is a sign of a good team isn't it(or so I am told)?

On a serious note, I would agree regarding the individuals, but I think they would all be a solid 7 out of ten. One of those pens go in V Everton, we take score the open net V Chelsea and this season would already look very different.

I'm no great believer in good luck/bad look but over 38 games surely we will get lucky once or twice and that could be enough. Because we have had fuck all luck and we are still up there

It's never been off. Whilst we've not been at our best our current position has been determined by some very fine margins.

To win it however we will need to go on a renters type of run, beat renters, spuds & dippers & keep all our players fit & on the pitch.

It can be done & we can help it by staying right behind the team & coach.

We're Man City....we fight to the end.

Spirit Of MANCUNIA....MANCHESTER the City of CITY.

We've been 8 points behind with 5 games to go and still won the thing. There are still 18 games left yet and we've proved that we can go on runs of winning 11 games on the bounce. Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

I hear this banded around all the time, but bear in mind the rags had to come to us and we were nigh on untouchable at home. It was effectively 5 points behind with 4 games to go.

That said, we can catch Chelsea unless they continue as they have done for the past 14 games. If they carry on like that for the rest of the season, we'd need to win every single game, which clearly we are not going to do.

All season I've been reading how Chelsea are running away with it...because of a recent record breaking run!...how the style and power of Liverpool is like watching the second coming of the Shankly era, and how Spurs are a young team of destiny (built on the shoulders of two youngsters...Kane and Alli, who seem to score 2/3 of their goals!)...AND that City have lost the plot, have no defence, can't score goals and Guardiola isn't up to snuff...

YET, half way through the season, we are level with Spurs, 2 puts behind Liverpool, and a "MASSIVE" 7 behind Chelsea.

In short, we simply have to do what CHAMPIONS have to do...beat Liverpool and Spurs at home, and beat Chelsea on their patch. From there, we simply have to match the performance of the other teams and we are SECOND!!! If Chelsea get beat by one of the other Top Four teams, and draw one more game than us, we are CHAMPIONS!!!

For anyone to say it is over already is ludicrous with all the top teams still to play each other. As we saw with City's games against Everton (2 missed pens) and Chelsea (missed open net to make it 2-0), the League is FULL of twists and turns EVERY YEAR. There is nothing to suggest this year will make it any different. Look at last year....Leicester running away with it? Really? 5000-1 shot pays out?!

There is lots and lots of football to be played yet and the teams that are "flying" rarely fly for 9 months straight. Thankfully, we looked like world beaters for the first handful of games, then hit a patch. Now, we are back on a bit of a run, albeit while not lighting up anyone's life. That same fall off, even for just a few games, can be the difference between 1st and 5th in the League this year.

From here on out, it is about matching results and beating the Top 6 AT HOME. Beyond that, don't lose at Arsenal, and beat Chelsea (or definitely don't lose) and we are in the mix come April/May.

The League is not, and never has been, a cake walk, and it takes scraping a few victories (QPR 2012 anyone?!) to get to the zenith, but ALL THE TOP TEAMS have a chance to win it...even Chelsea!!!

OUR SEASON IS DETERMINED FROM MARCH 18 to APRIL 5. Was probably ALWAYS going to be this way. I don't see how that has really changed, other than we need to catch up to Chelsea a bit!

COME ON CITY!!!

Without wanting to put pressure on the kid i think a lot is riding on our new Brazilian Jesus and how he settles, some players arrive and make an immediate impact and hit the ground running like Rashford did when he first started for the Rags, others need a season to settle.

If he hits the ground running we have a fantastic chance, if not he may hold us back for a while as Pep tries to fit him in.
