He can’t defend and that’s a huge concern.

Great that he’s tidy and can cross, but he’s been nothing short of shit when it comes to defensive stuff.

Mahrez is a better defender than Gomez at the moment.

Mahrez is in some major funk at the moment offensively but even yesterday he put a major defensive shift in when we lost the ball and got it back twice iirc.

So Gomez needs to start eating some Riyad Pasta and get some defensive lessons!

Pep loves a left back project. I like the look of him, obviously a bit dodgy at the back but he’s only a few months into his time at City. Patience is needed with signings like Gomez.

Thought he was great tonight. Always looking to attack and gave Grealish a lot of space to play more up the middle

I don’t have any concerns when he is in possession. He’s very tidy on the ball and links up well with those around him. Defensively he is very much a work in progress.

Incredibly raw and very rash defensively but he def has ability. Linked up well with grealish and is very good going forward. Fun player to watch

He's great on the ball and contributes going forward but he's currently a huge liability defensively. Needs so much work on that side of his game.

My jury is out and will be til the end of the season. I’ve not been overly impressed so far but will give him more time.

I think it's only fair to expect some defensive mistakes from him, more so than our regular fullbacks. I have a feeling between him and Wislon-Esbrand, City could save a great deal at the LB position, with a little hard work and patience from all sides. Their future at City might be tied in with how long Pep stays IMO because he'll need mould them more(I've not watched Esbrand much I admit, just my initial impressions). Rico Lewis looks naturally suited to our style of play, he's just a bit young yet.

He's definitely rough around the edges which is a shame because he always seems to make Grealish play better.

Impressed by his energy levels tonight. Even right at the end he was able to match Loftus-Cheek in a long sprint.
