Thought he looked very dynamic on the ball, cancelo-lite almost, his crossing ability is superb and his technique is exemplary. Unfortunately he's still got a hell of a lot of work to do defensively before he's a real option for us. Playing like a kid who's been thrown into a position he doesn't play when we've not got the ball, will be targeted whenever he's on the pitch until he improves substantially. I trust it will come in time, we have to remember we were debating whether to loan him out and almost certainly would have had we obtained Cucurella. Let's hope Pep gets some 1 on 1 time with him during the world cup.
 
I wonder if he should be molded into a bernie type midfielder in the middle, utilizing ball control to help us control thr center.

Would need to have an engine or else it wont work.
 
We have better wide men/midfielders and we need a better left back,so i'm unsure on what we do with him as he isn't good enough to nail down a spot and be in the vast majority of our starting 11's.

He has a likeability and a great work ethic.....but there are surely academy kids who could replicate what he brings,i think we should have signed something more specialised.
 
He got caught under the ball from a cross early in the game when the Sevilla player headed it wide. Then did exactly the same for the corner at which they scored. To be fair though, there is no way he should have been picking him up as the lad who scored was 6 foot plus. Dias or Laporte should have took responsibility there.

Had a steady game but he's a got a long way to go before he can be thrown in against top opposition. Hopefully he continues to learn and progress.

My guess is he was a decent punt to get an extra body in for this season that they could probably make a profit on in 1-2 years, if he weren’t to become a useful squad player.

He’s definitely not a defender though and JWE can feel unlucky to be missing out on the minutes that Gomes is getting there
