Yeah fair point when you have Cancelo why play Gomes but Gomes brings more in overlapping Cancelo comes in field more! Yep good point

Only reason he was taken off is because Cancelo is miles out of form and Pep wanted him to get some minutes, don't think it had anything to do with Gomez.

I don’t think the minutes helped Cancelo much!

I don't like criticising players, but his defending is truly awful. He had a few good moments going forward but his positioning and passing from a full back position is woeful. His errors put us under pressure at least 3 times in the first half. Not good enough for us.

Gomez is a decent player, as for his defensive capabilities, they're as good as Cancello's- put it that way. He could have stayed on for me - looked quality, the lad needs a run of games.

Yeah, very good natural footballer but defensively appalling. Never seen this before with City fullbacks
