His crossing is lethal and should be used as an asset considering we've got the best number 9 in world football up top for us. They could combine countless times just like they did on Saturday (and when we took apart the rags last season).

Plus he's obviously good at ball retention and has the confidence to go with it. I think he'll be a really good option from the left hand side. It'd leave us with Grealish, Doku and Gomez are left wing options and all of them have different strengths but are all effective. Really good depth there IMO.

Love this kids attitude. Skill level is really high. Will be an important squad player this season.

Played well I thought. Created plenty of chances and would have had an assist or three if our finishing had been a bit more clinical.

Did really well created a few chances , he wasnt tested defensively and that is the issue , great going forward but hasnt proved himself as a defender , and i dont think he will , similar to Zinchenko a manufactured left back and not a natural.Not sure where he fits into this squad but he is a decent player.

Just want to remind everyone that if not for profligate finishing, Gomez could have had 5 assists in 50 minutes of football.

Good first half and did what was asked of him. Tired noticeably in the second and conceded possession a couple of times before being withdrawn, but after last year’s experience in Copenhagen it was pleasing to see him back on this stage.

His first start at the Etihad ever, if I am not mistaken? Started some away games, though. Anyway, he gave a very positive account of himself. He probably created more chances than anybody else in the 1st half. He will only get better as well. Well done, Sergio.
