I said this in the pre-match thread, and I don't blame him because he has no clue what to do defensively as a defender. I blame Pep for leaving this midfielder to play as a defender until the end.
 
Unforgiveable even playing that pass in the first place under no pressure at all, but to just blindly play it back at that point of the game is just something I'll never see past for him now.

I literally said to my Dad 5 minutes before, that he scares the shit out of me when he has the ball, as he plays like he's not got a care in the world, and just doesn't seem to concentrate.

To play that pass, and then follow it up with a foul, is one of the most idiotic moments of football I've ever seen.
 
had a good game out of posittion,he should never have been in the position that led to the mistake.

One of the better performers out there today but that says a fuck load more about the state of us then his quality. Looks like mummies special one and needs fucking off. Seems to have a bit of an attitude problem as well which is laughable considering he’s bang average.

Standout player? Seriously? What did he actually do? What did he create? What was the point of him.

I know he did the team a favour playing at left back (although he was barely there) but it’s his job to do as he’s asked.

He has no obvious place on this team other than to try and fit in somewhere where we’re missing a player. He’s never been played in his midfield position because he’s actually not good enough for City to play there.
And if he’s not good enough to play in his position then he’s not good enough for a team who aspires to win trophies.

He should never have been signed.
 
Horrible pass and inexplicable challenge however tbf to him he wouldn't have been playing if the other defenders, Stones and Ake, weren't made of glass.

Couldn’t agree more. To fuck up once is excusable but twice in the same passage of play is just fucking inexcusable. Do they all have it in them to have a lobotomy of some sort in every fucking game at the moment?? It certainly appears that way

He has too many lapses in concentration (ball going under his foot etc) too many WTF moments (like today) and far too many instances of just completely disappearing in games. Many have wanted him in the middle of the park but he would be a disaster waiting to happen. I never worried about him being even further back than our midfield, because playing him at FB makes zero fucking sense when you consider the above. The only position he can play at City, is on the wing (basically out of the fucking way) and the fact he is even in the reckoning for doing so, shows how far we have regressed. He couldn’t get a game last season, now he’s starting at fucking LB.
 
Actually I thought he had a good game!
As he's not a defender he stepped out too often but he still had the left side under good control especially as Doku offers exactly zero in defence except for moving his athletic body slowly into position from time to time. Pathetic by Doku.

Nunes' poor pass for the equalizer was a typical "OMG I must not make a mistake now" -pass,
and the consequence is the mistake. Then panic did the rest. He has confirmed his own doubts once again that he always makes mistakes when it counts. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Nunes, Jack, Doku, Savinho, Gvardiol (Phillips as #1) are all generally afraid to make mistakes - and then make the mistake. It's in their personality and they cannot change. They don't have a strong self confidence and that shows in their performances game after game.

This topic has to be addressed for future transfers.
All the titles seem to have blinded our great recruiting.
 
by the way these kind of errors, we have it in us, do you see other teams make similar mistakes sometimes but bloody hell we concede 99 of 100 of these. other teams sometimes get away with it, with a last ditch tackle, cleareance off goal line, a GK save etc.

same as conceded pens, I see other teams not concede from pens in PL because its taken badly and it doesnt hit target or GK simply saves once in a while.

against us a pen = goal all the time in PL.
