Has anyone mentioned that he’s good with his feet but not a good shot stopper yet?
He's good with his feet but not a good shot stopper.

What is happening to the game when that is a penalty. Was he supposed to dissolve into thin air to avoid the collision? It was a 50/50 ball and the goalkeeper is entitled to go for them. We will have non contact football soon. What would Frank Swift say?

Hate to say it but I don’t think we will win the CL with this fella in goal, is far too rash and doesn’t make enough top saves.

he should have gone there where he showed at the pen. or not show anything just save it.

teams probably have their best ever pen conversion rate against City. they hardly ever miss a pen against us.
and also the fact how many we concede generally from on target shots made against us in general. a fucking lot.

there needs to be more practice going into saving pens. we might have a pen shoutout in CL soon, we need to actively work on it to win it.

fair enough Ederson often finds himself in real shit situtions given the way we play with high line, and bit of a gung ho approach and often ending up in 1 v 1 with strikers, but we need to reduce the number of goals as we dont allow many on target shots to opponents.

xG from pen is around 78% or so, against City it feels like 98%.

The last three goals he conceded:
  • Harry Kane gifted the ball six yards out, with the whole goal to aim at, by laughably shit defending.
  • Ollie Watkins allowed to run clean through, with the whole goal to aim at, by laughably shit defending
  • The team who were top of the league gifted a penalty at home by laughably shit refereeing
Yet the crazies on here reckon he should have saved all of them.
Six titles in his last seven years with City and Benfica, yet he is shit according to the lynch mob. Clowns

Top top keeper just watch some on the cIty videos in training where he makes exceptional saves , laughable to think anyone gets to his level if they can’t make a save
Plus what is a save ?
Ederson on the edge of his box rushes out intercepts and passes to a city player is that a save for other keepers it would be a one v one because they are not as quick off their line

Haha as if Pope could play in our team with his 1980s distribution
I'd rather see a decent goalkeeper with 1880s distribution than one who goes down by instalments and finds it hard to make a save!

It's all a matter of taste. I just don't feel comfortable with him in goals, whereas the man in charge does. TBH, I think Ederson's distribution has been poor this season compared to past years.

Like I said though, I'm just a punter with an opinion!

LOL fuck me he is one of the most composed, unfazed people in the history of mankind.

Used to be. For a long while now he's been doing more and more insane nonsense that benefits nobody. Rushing out of goal and not getting there used to be once a season, now it's much more frequent. And what was that last night, getting booked for timewasting after about five warnings?

The other thing, not as major, is that when facing a penalty you never even hope that he might save it. He even told Saka where to go and then dived the other way.

His distribution improved second half, but first half it was crap. Long ball after long ball either to isolated players or defenders’ heads.

The penalty decision, whilst a joke, showed his poor decision making. Forget the contact, he ran out of goal when defenders were covering the striker on an angle, stood narrow and jumped up - easy enough for Nketiah to slip it goal-wards and he would have scored had Ake not bailed him out.

Personally, Ortega should get a run.

He is a keeper that plays on the very edge, he is our first and last line of defence, that's what makes him unique and open to fuck ups.

I love him as a keeper , a character and as a huge part of this team.

Even when trying to play mind games, Ederson even didn’t look convinced.

Was never a penalty yesternight (can see why it was given though),but dear me,the number of rash decisions he's been making or made in the last year or so,under the guise of sweeping,is shocking.

Rarely looks like he can keep us in games in periods where we aren't playing well and just huge lapses in concentration lately

Simply put, we are winning despite/in spite of him,not because of him.

I was gobsmacked he dove the other way as well

I don't get all the Ederson negativity.

He has the best passing ability of any first-choice keeper in all top leagues. He has the longest range of passing too. He's not the best at stopping shots and his aggressiveness in the box sometimes doesn't pay off.

Ederson has always been this way.

Yet, due to the way we play, he's the best keeper for our system. I wouldn't trade him for any other.

That disjointed feel is down to not having a consistent back line, surely that’s not being discounted? The ability to play out is a shadow of itself without Dias, Laporte and stones; the others are no way near that standard, despite being solid defensively, hence the tinkering that has gone on…

I think some of our fanbase are becoming extremely entitled, expecting super human performances year on year, blind that its
Nigh on impossible to sustain; that isn’t aimed at you by the way, just the general consensus observed for a good few of our players;

We sit top, again, with a wank GK, shit defence, geriatric midfield and striker who doesn’t fit our style of play, despite scoring 30+ goals by January..

We’re doomed (:
