31 | Ederson - 2024/25

Exactly. There's a reason the Spanish rags flogged Penaldo off despite the 5 UCL wins. They saw the decline and got almost 90m from his sale. We should be looking for those type of deals for our exceptional yet ageing players
KDB 100, Walker 30, Bernardo 30, Ederson 50 = 230m for 4 players that wanted to go, not to mention their huge wages.

Saw his arse when Ortega did well last season, pushed for a move he didn’t get and now looks like he couldn’t give less of a fuck.

Such a shame considering how great he’s been for us but the guy is second on my fuck off list now after our “Captain”.

Mine too, he's never been or ever will be Big Joe or Super Joey levels (maybe even Weaver & Williams too)

Goalkeeping for me has been about shot stopping first and foremost and he doesn't. That late save in the CL Final is often mentioned, but for me a routine stop by any top tier keeper.

One shot = goal.

Then you will slate 100% of keepers. He has no time to react and nearly saved it.

A keeper either gets lucky in that situation or it goes in.
A great example of this is the UCL final where he saves that point blank header with his leg. The commentary reacts like it's Banks against Pele when he has his foot planted and it just hits him.

Sometimes as a keeper luck is part of it. Vlahovic got through 2 defenders to head that from 3 yards.

I wonder after the 20th match where of 2-3 more serious attempt on target again ends up being a goal, what is the GK coach next plan on training?

is there a way to practice specifically saving shots. maybe there is lot more science to GK coaching.

watch we dominate rags for 20 mins and their first on target attempt around 25th min is a goal.

Once his passes through the lines and long were sussed, he just became average.
I agree. If anything his distribution isn't what it was and he's generally a poor to average shot stopper. And when we concede a penalty I have zero expectation he'll save it. I think he'll take the tempting Saudi Riyal next summer, I just hope we command a decent fee for him.

I am not picking on Walker here but he cost us 50m has been an incredible success and given us 7 seasons of quality, 7 seasons later we get 30m back for him and 200K a week off the books, so a 32 yr old International player has given 7 years service at a cost of 20m, that would have been a simply incredible deal.

He wanted to go and with that been the case he should have gone with our goodwill.

Its the goalkeepers fault that the rest of the team can't hit a barn door and then just let opposition teams have high xG chances.

Right...
