If he can save us a point in the next game or at Juve then the 2nd goal should be forgotten. Goals Iike the first (miscommunication) & third (risk to play with a high line) can happen but the 2nd was an utter joke. I know confidence is low but this was "inexcusable". Still has a little bit credit in the bank (CL final) but if he can`t offer the basics of the GK game then Ortega deserves a run of games.

After what happened.. Pep will be ruthless.. you've seen it before..

I'd be surprised if Eddie starts any of the next 10 games..

And I'd be even more surprised if there are not multiple additions come January.. it may not be the perfect fix but anything is better than the current state of things.

I called it!

Has some advantages and disadvantages the balance of which Guardiola doesn't like in the game Man City is currently playing against Liverpool @ Anfield.

I will be the first to admit that if he gave away a penalty today and didn't save it, like Ortega, i would have been on his tail.

I posted a few days ago but rumour is that he's leaving. If that is something that's just happened then perhaps this is it, it will be interesting to see Wednesday. If Ortega starts then thats it imo.

He mentally left in the Summer. The Saudi money was huge and the only reason he didn’t go was because no team offered what we valued him as. Simple as that.

He’s been fantastic since joining and has improved tenfold (especially this season) with shot stopping but if he doesn’t want to be here then he can leave.

Pep’s dropped him either because of Tuesday, the fact he was chatting to clubs behind closed doors, the fact he wants to leave or all three. Either way, Ortega deserves his chance.

Sadly I 100% agree.

He will be off in the summer, so sad, a wonderful player and great character but with what is on offer in Saudi who can blame him.

Fill your boots Eddie!

I still love Eddie but it was right to drop him and would be extremely disrespectful to Ortega not to give him a few games now. Otherwise the message would be “you’re always gonna be second, no matter what happens”.

By that logic, could you not also say it would also be extremely disrespectful, arguably more so, to Ederson, our treble winning goalkeeper to drop him presumably for an error in the previous game only to see his replacement make a bigger error in the next game and yet he doesn't then receive the same treatment?
