You really have to ask what is going on here. I mean how bad must he be in training that he is completely discounted from selection? People talk about a year to bed into a Pep system and while that view has had some merit in the past, those players were actually involved in their 1st year, they just weren’t at their best. You can’t bed-in and get better, if you’re never involved.

We already have a small squad. It's made even smaller by useless players like Phillips. He could have been injured the whole season and it wouldn't have made a difference. Recruitment have dropped a stinker here.

I suspect the club thinks less is more… The less other managers see him play, the more they might pay us for him
