All respect due to Phillips, but he's a long way off from being mentioned in the same conversation as Rodri.

Nolito, Angelino, Gomez, Torres, Steffen we dont always get it right in the transfer market.

Yep the difference between Kalvin and Rodri is very similar to the difference between McTominay and Cassemiro.

Torres was alright. Scored a couple goals playing in striker, Pep barely tried him on the wings, and we made a profit off him.

Steffen was always gonna be 2nd choice keeper, and put in solid shifts when called upon, not sure we should have been expecting too much.

I feel it's still early in Gomez's City career, kid has potential but remains to be seen whether he will make it here.

Phillips is coming back off a long injury, I'd be a tad more patient with him.

Crikey....76 pages on performances and he's only started one game! A game that fielded an understrength team, with bizarre tactics and where nobody played well. Wouldn't want some of you as a work colleague if you're that scathing and judgemental already.
He may or may not prove to be a good signing but shouldn't be written off on that disaster of a 90 minutes from the whole team.
I bet a number of people on here slating him thought he was a decent acquisition at £40 million when West Ham wanted 125 for Rice. If that opinion's changed in 90 minutes of football, maybe you can come full circle again in another 90?!!

I'm willing to wait until he's played atleast a dozen games from this injury.

The injury is annoying, his lack of chemistry and rhythm shouldn't be shocking though.

I'd play a midfield 2 with Kevin deeper and use Kalvin as a rotation option either with Rodri or continuing without him.

He is not good enough with passing/tacking. Bielsa's system made a lot of Leeds players look world beaters. Drop of from Rodri to Philips is huge

I know it’s early days but Phillips don’t look great at the min. Plenty of time to turn it around but I am starting to have doubts
He’s not fit and it’s looking more and more like this season is a write-off for him. Hopefully he can do something, but coming on and just giving away a load free-kicks isn’t what we are after.

If Bielsa can make him look like a world-beater then surely, given time, so can Pep.

He's had terrible luck with injuries and has hardly played. It's going to be tough to get him decent minutes this season as long as Rodri's available.

Just needs to train hard, learn what he can, gel with the squad and do his best with the minutes he gets.

He'll be ok when he's fully up to speed and had some game time. Problem is it's hard to see where we can really afford to give him minutes except at the end of games like these when it's already done and dusted.
