Probably one of the first players for a long time i was genuinely giddy about,as you say.....what could have been.

I was so excited for him to finally play in the opener of the 2010 season against Villa and then... he got hurt in warmups about 10 minutes before kickoff

I thought he would've been a really good signing, but whether by choice or bad luck he's been overweight, injured or coming back from injury. It's not like he's 21 either and to be honest, he's not ripped up trees when he's played. In truth, he just looks out of this depth.

I'm positive he is a decent player, but he's an 'unlucky' player for us and we don't need unlucky players. I think he will go to either a team that's escaped relegation or someone like Burnley. He will do well there and hopefully he can rediscover his form. He's as good a Rodri understudy as I am sadly.

He will be off in summer.

Any truth in the fact Pep gets £50k every time Phillips gets on the pitch , cant see any other reason for bringing him on in the 90th minutes :)

I guess so. But seriously from next season onwards, rodri needs a proper player to not only come in and rotate with him but to also actually push him for a starting spot.

He hasn’t been good enough but I can’t help but feel sorry for the guy. I really hope he does a Jack Grealish in his second season, but I can’t see it as you need to hit the ground running in that position.
