40M Bid from Corinthians

I would even take 35m + a 20% sell-on clause as it will be Kia's #1 priority to move him to a top European club within a season or to and 20% of say 40m is 8m.

That seems the most reasonable and realistic, no way would we get 50% sell on clause. We could get something written in saying due to his very specific reason for leaving us, we require that the following goes into the contract.

"Carlos Tevez cannot return to England as a domestic club profesional player under any circumstance for x years"

?

Don't think that will fly, but perhaps a 25% sell on any transfer back into Europe?

I would not want him back in Europe. Joorabchien would be trying to flog him to the highest bidder again in 12months.

Exactly... That's why I reckon an extremely steep sell on fee if they look to sell him over the next 2 seasons.

Don't the Brazillians have a transfer window which is closing shortly?

what did we buy him for 25-27 million if £40 million is true that's a brilliant return if we sell him!

done an unbelievable job for us and helped us to were we are now but he wants to go id say take the offer nobody else will get anywhere near it well i would be surprised if anybody else does!

Well its not brilliant as it doesn't reflect his influence and improvement in the 2 years we had him.
Top scorer over 2 seasons in the toughest league in th eworld is about as good an improvement as you could possibly get.
Measure that against Torres sale and the general prices banded about, yes im aware of the differences in each deal, timing, aggresive aproaches etc etc but over all its not bad, not great but not bad.

Realistic would be 60m if you look at Torres and Ronaldo deals. But his baggage has knocked 20-25m of that.

Defo need a sell on clause if he comes back to the prem or Spain, Italy.

Breaking news: Mancio Sports sources understand Corinthians doesnt have nor 4 million

It`s not even £40m.....

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/8641704/Corinthians-increase-offer-for-Manchester-City-striker-Carlos-Tevez-to-44-million.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... llion.html</a>

The offer - €40million euros with €4million in add-ons - falls short of City's £50 million valuation for their captain but it may suit the Premier League club if Tevez not just leaves them but also quits European football.

I am extremely sceptical about this 'bid'. But, if it is genuine, I would take it without hesitation and go all out for Aguero.

I have never believed that City would be inundated with serious interest in Tevez. As a result of a very prolific spell from December 2009 to December 2010, Tevez has been overrated - certainly in terms of his world standing - both by many City supporters and by many English football journalists (who have delighted in portraying City as a one-man-band). I do not believe that the owners and managers of 'top' foreign teams see Tevez in the same light. European clubs are certain now to be wary of a player whose clear modus operandi is to sign a 5 year contract and then press for a move after 2 years (whilst insisting that he has always given 110% for the club and that he will always love the fans) and who has recently reiterated that he may well retire from football in two or three years. Moreover, intelligent managers will surely by now realise that Tevez has recurrent problems with authority figures - in particular, he reacts very badly to being substituted - and that he is inordinately selfish, so much so that he sees other strikers as rivals.

Comparisons with the inflated transfer fees for Torres, Carroll, etc have very little relevance. If City can get a transfer fee for Tevez that is close to the buy-out price for Aguero, that must be a good deal.
