Probably a 5/10 performance tonight if he hadn’t scored. Pep is spot on with his progression, gives the ball away to much in bad areas. We all know how good he is going forward, but he hasn’t mastered the basics yet.
Looked dead on his feet towards the end but still chased what he could. Some scrappy passes and evidence as to why we need him wide left rather than central. I just feel he is under pressure in the middle not to give the ball away and it restricts him.
He benefits from having the freedom wide left to try and make things happen. But still a solid performance and an important goal in a very flat first half performance.
Quiet game, lovely finish though(Pickford was getting nowhere near it if it wasn't deflected). Definitely more suited to the wing where his high risk, high reward style is less risky.
For a 20 year old in his first proper season that’s probably to be expected. He’s a top class talent who is having an influence on every game he plays now
