Right on. Just to point out, David Silva also started out from the wings. For a natural attacking midfielder like Foden to move comfortably into central midfield like Silva did, probably requires a certain footballing maturity. Whichever the case, Foden is in excellent hands under Pep.
Yes and I for one am really looking forward to it .

I was reminded today by a Wolves supporting mate that Pedro Neto is the better player in the U21 age bracket with his 5 goals and 4 assists so far this premier league campaign (as opposed to Phil's 5 goals and 3 assists).

Failed to mention that the extra assist has come from playing 900 more minutes this season than Foden...

Looks a good en though

No doubt he's got real quality (evidenced by his goal today) I guess I've just got my sky blue tinted glasses on atm.
Yeh don’t we all. Think Neto is an out and it winger and a very good one. Foden is more than that though he can play anywhere and as he develops he will be world class (again blue specs though)

I think Pep gambled a lot against Liverpool when he moved Foden as a RW in the final 20-30 minutes, because during the last 2-3 seasons - you can count 2 or 3 games at max - where Phil played as RW. But.. in the end that was something Klopp couldn't anticipate and maybe only Pep knew from the training sessions - what Phil could do there against Robertson and Henderson :D <3 Of course we all know that in the end Phil is RW, like we knew about Sane - but there is difference between readiness and at what level are you right now. Sane was never ready for that RW position..

Phil is on the right path and Pep is playing a huge role there. I was disappointed when I saw Foden playing LW at first, because that's the position where he wasn't comfortable at all during the first number of matches. But now I think the only way Phil becomes the best RW in the world - is through playing as LW and becoming the best there as well. Same applies to Sterling, until he started to deliver from LW - he had to become the best RW in the league and still - he isn't as good LW as good RW he is, if we look at it in terms of stability..

Pep looks at it like bonus I think.. :D you play wide and maybe if you deserve - you get 20-25-30 minutes to play more inside / creative role. And that's good, because opponents aren't fully ready for that and in addition to tiredness - become vulnerable. That's what happened to Liverpool <3

Show him this:

All competitions
Neto: 2151 minutes, 5 goals, 4 assists
Foden: 2038 minutes, 10 goals, 7 assists

Foden is almost literally twice the player.
