He's just been voted onto a 30 man shortlist for the best player in the world by a worldwide panel of a few hundred journalists, coaches and players.

It's a couple of months since he was voted best young player in the country by both the PFA and Premier League, and got nominated for the PFA Player of the year award.

He was named in the UEFA Champions League squad of the year for last season.

So can we drop the persecution complex for a bit? He gets loads of recognition and everyone thinks he's incredible.
Mbappe is half the player yet raved about

21 years of age the world at his feet
I don't normally go all ' girly ' for football players but by christ this lad is worth it. His vision, his control, his reading of the game, his skill, his long range passes, his attitude....just mesmerising and as above, he's 21, local and a real, dyed in the wool blue. It doesn't get any better. And if he carries on as he has been doing he's soon to be world class, soon to be the next David Silva. I hope he's still with us in 15 yrs.

I predict peoples' impatience for him to play in midfield is going to replace the impatience people had for him to get gametime lol. IMO he needs to stay on the wing for now - not just for his development but for the sake of the team until we've got someone else with an actual goal threat. It's not like he's wasted there either, he still has an incredible impact on the wing. No reason to rush it.

Yup. No need to rush him into the centre straight away. Let Pep continue moulding him into a world class CM while in the meantime he can do damage from the wing. The best midfield players like xavi, iniesta , kroos, modric etc.. didn't really start to get going in that position till 23/24 ish. Let him bide his time yet.

Outstanding footballer , he will win many more caps , premier leagues and hopefully some Champions leagues , he is maturing and not scared of giving the officials some stick when opposition players are continually chopping him down, The only negative is Phil is far too honest , if he'd stayed down when Milner assaulted him on Sunday he would have made the ref make a decision either a penalty and yellow card or free kick and straight red card for journeyman MIlner.
Honesty is something to admire , but there is no place for it in football nowadays , when a player like Salad is labelled world class when he is actually a bonafide cheat it is obvious how standards and morals in football have fallen to gutter level.

Oh! And how can I forget Silva the El Mago! And even he was playing wide for city and Spain even till his later years as well.

We're so lucky to have him, easily top 3 young players in the world.

Now imagine how good he would be if instead of staying with the best manager in the world, on one of the best teams in the world, with some of the best players in the world, he went and got some minutes in a championship team like the media were baying for.
