People are making that square ball sound easy but are you all missing the bloke in the way? Last weeks was unforgiveable but today it was much tougher. He tries to pass and hits the defender, everybody asks why he didn't shoot.
That aside, I'm a bit concerned about Phil. Feel like he's plateaued a bit and his defensive work, of which he was so good at a couple of seasons back, needs a lot of work. It's a really big season for him and he really needs to kick on.

Players who burst on the scene often go through a dip. This is a huge season for Foden. He’s a very good player but we all, including the club, had even higher hopes.

Thought he was poor for the most part today. I wonder if the lack of pre season affected him, he didn’t travel with the team.
He’s a quality player but I think this is the season where he should be looking to really kick on and be consistent. I think he’ll get better.

He didn’t have a proper pre-season.
People on here were saying De Bruyne was finished this time last year.

Genuinely when did he last have an outstanding game? Brighton last October?
He scored twice in that game. But TBH one was from incredibility pass from Bernado and run by Grealish and his unselfish pass to Foden. The other from Jesus's shot deflected on his body...

He's no Messi and never will be, along with 99.9% of players.
Quite harsh comparing them.
I was hoping he would be David Silva's replacement but I don't think that will happen.
A motm performance should be a good start, he's not been the standout player in a long time.

Hopefully you’re joking but you never know here looking at other posts but Messi is arguably the best player in the history of football. I’m not sure that’s where the bar should be set for rating young players :)

The intention has to be to pass. That shot was never going in, I can't recall Foden ever scoring a far post shot.

That wasn't a far post shot, that was above the keeper when he cut inside from the right. He's never drilled it across the keeper from an acute angle iirc.
