I'm hoping after the season he's just had, with the extra responsibility he's taken on, that he'll be the one to try and force things a little.

In the past, it's been exactly as you've suggested. He receives the ball, then passes to someone else while he moves into a better position, only to see them try something risky instead.

I think most unbiased fans can see how talented Foden is, and will probably direct most of the blame at Southgate's incompetence, for his underperformance with England.
