I often think, the city england contingent must listen to southgate and think, “what the fuck…”, after listening to pep all week
I think this is true. More than a few Blues have noticed Foden struggling a little in our games right after international duty.

Altho, tbf, that might be down to a bit of fatigue.

There was a brilliant one on the Lee, Bell, Summerbee video, possibly against WBA in the Charity Shield.
I've seen that ,opening day of the 1968/ 69 season at Maine Rd ..5-1 win ? ...A young Asa Hartford playing for wba gave the ball away for the first goal and we counter attacked at pace to score. ;)

Wont be long until the tabloids and media report that Madrid are after him as they list the reasons he will never stay in Manchester.
At least they won't be able to say he hates the mancunian weather..
Seeing as he loves the great outdoors/ fishing!

It was the Charity Shield; 3/8/68.

You’re right about the first goal. The inventive free-kick is the third one:

I really would love Foden to take that Gundogan role next to Rodri and KDB with Stones or Akanji stepping into mid to help Rodri.

8 goals and 7 assists. He's learning to control the tempo now and would be perfect in that midfield 3.

The hate he gets here is weird
I don't get this hate for City players, i don't know any blue who hates a City player past or present. To be critical of a City player is not hate, most are critical because they want the player they're criticising to do well. There may be a few haters on this forum but i can't name any because i don't brandish someone a hater unless it goes beyond criticism. And anyone doing that will probably be thread banned by the mods before i notice.

Nope.
Great Midfield players, Superbly talented Central Midfield players know how to control the tempo of a game from day 1. They feel it. They know they are the best and act accordingly...

Foden will have been controlling centre mids all his footballing life..

It's only now...he has been allowed to play centre mid for City that Blues can appreciate this particular talent.

He has not learned it. It was always there..but you cannot dictate a game from left or right wing.or false 9.....
When you know you are a Great player....you automatically ,instinctively , assume the role of controller....if selected.,and if your manager has faith in you....This.is.Now..imo.

How can Pep possibly justify shoehorning Foden out to the wing after being our best player through the middle for the entirety of the season? If he was bought for 100M, would this be happening? Of course not. Pep didn't think twice about bringing him on over Alvarez when KDB got hurt last year in the CL final. What's changed now?

With that being said, he was far and away our only threat in the first half bar Doku.

Because unfortunately we have paid £50m for a midfielder that isn’t good enough but has to get game time.

Another superb game ,he had a chat with Pep and he played more in the middle later in the 2nd half and caused problems and dragged Everton players out of position , Phil is making it more and more difficult for Pep to start him out of his best position. Quite sure Pep had and eye on the Copenhagen game with his selection , but the result is all that matters.

Because Pep likes to constantly outthink the opposition and keep our squad on their toes with rotation and versatility.

Was a disgraceful decision by Pep to shunt him out wide just to accommodate Nunes and Alvarez
