4k TVs

I'm looking for a TV for the Series X. Seen different things and quite a bit confused. 120hz? Hdmi 3.0?

I've basically got a budget of £1200 and want the best TV possible will only be used for the Xbox and the IPTV.

I’m not sure HDMI 3.0 is even out yet. HDMI 2.1 supports 120Hz at up to 10K resolution which is well above what any existing TV can reproduce.
Key thing with Series X is it supports Dolby Vision HDR which I know isn’t available on Samsung but is on LG and Sony. So either an LG C1 OLED or LG Nanocell TV would be fine or if you prefer Sony Bravia X90J series.
The input lag is slightly higher on LG OLED but unless you are a pro gamer you won’t notice, and in reality if you were a pro gamer you wouldn’t want a large tv anyway.

Just bought Lg 65” oled c14lb, im no expert but it looks a good tv going off reviews? hope its worth the outlay :-/

Just for info, I bought a 50” Samsung for around a grand during lockdown. I share a BT subscription with my elderly Dad (£24 a month) and I get a perfect picture through the inbuilt BT app on the TV whereas he get his BT on the Sky platforms. Worth considering if you have a mate who has BT, considerable saving of £144 per year. I know a lot of people stick with the IPTV, I have one, but I like the stability of Sky and BT subscription’s especially for City away games (never miss home matches).

Get yourself a LG C1 best gaming TV out there, prices should come down slightly in next few months as the C2 comes in but the C1 is very popular be quick. Buy from Richer sounds, John Lewis or Costco for a decent warranty.

Mine arrives on Friday, looking forward to seeing how good it is, never had an oled before :)

I have a 2016 LG OLED, it was great but then got burn-in and nobody covered it, Richer Sounds were useless. I was on the look out for a new one and i know LG have done a lot of work in the pixel shift department to help with burn-in, but i know it's still a big issue in all OLED panels. My usage is mostly films and TV, although i do have a PS5 i don't intend to use it on my TV much. The options i really looked at were a 55" LG C1 or the 55" Sony A80J. The OS for LG was quite good on my last one but it got pretty slow towards the end, i know the Sony one is Android and i have another Sony LED Android TV as well and the OS its atrociously slow, so i was hesitant to get another Android at first. But having seen a few reviews and seeing comparisons of picture, i went for the a80J from John Lewis. One thing about getting an OLED, i would suggest to everyone to get it from JL and always pay the £140 for the accidental insurance, it's the only one i've ever seen that specifically mentions burn-in as something it covers. They also do price matching and even though they had this TV on for about 1399, i found it on some website for £969 and JL agreed to match the price! The TV is amazing tbh, the OS is snappy and one thing i can say for sure is that the AI upscaling it does on SD and HD content is brilliant. Watching IPTV streams, there's a noticeable quality upscale on 720p content that makes it much closer to 1080p and the 1080p has more pop to it as well. I use a Sonos soundbar with 2 rears, i noticed the sound quality is much better that when it used the LG, i think this is because it as eARC tech, which the new LG's will have as well tbf. But by all accounts (can't vouch for this because i've never used it myself) the sound from the TV itself is brilliant. If you are planning to use it mostly for gaming, i think the C1 is the better choice, but i'm more than happy with the A80j.
