Will he be back next season
I imagine Bayern won’t pay the agreed fee to make the deal permanent, but I think he’s almost certainly burnt all his bridges here. The only way he could conceivably play for us next season would be if Guardiola left in the summer, which is highly unlikely. He’ll probably either go out on loan again, or we’ll accept a cut-price offer for him.

So give him 5-7 more games to be toxic in the dressing room and continue unsettling the entire squad? Right. Excellent plan.

Clearly some lucky people here have never worked in a toxic work environment and/or are incredibly naive. Plus the disrespect to the management of our club, that they would have done this if there were any other way, is mind-boggling. It's crystal clear from all that's gone on that there wasn't any other option than parting ways.
This all day long.

Agree think a cut price deal would be better, just because his contract is to 2027 250k a week! The €70m buy option is a guide and I think if the Bayern do want him we would take €45/50m

Cancelo, as others have pointed out, has a history of not surviving long at clubs when he feels things are not going his way. He had a poor World Cup (another fall out?). The burglary at his home may well have been a factor too. We all know that Pep will not tolerate players who kick against the traces and he will have been really mad, for example, at the sending off against Fulham. So,end of story for Mr. C. Good luck to him at Bayern. Nothing to see here, move on - as they say. Not replacing him is a gamble but its not a disaster.

We'll get £30m - £40m for him and people on here will say we are doing favours for clubs that hate us.

Man was out of favour for like 2 weeks(3 games) so packed it in.. actually mental

Bayern like Portugal will come to realise that Pep and his system made him look far better than he actually is and they won't be buying him. Mind probably be made up in 2 weeks when he gets constantly rinsed by that PSG front line.

Got to be said if you are a top player you do want to play. Career is short, so whilst fans clamor for 2 x world beaters in every position the players and manager can see massive flaws in that process. I can imagine Potter is thinking..great...BUT...fuck..I'm going to have ten out with their bottom lips on the floor...It can't be easy. I think that's why the academy should specialise on key positions that don't rely as much on natural, genetic instilled talent (No 10's. 9's, wingers) should be the stars we buy....have a specialist academy CB, GK, DM school..I mean realistically, in 20 years..Foden a genuine first teamer. We get bits and bob of money back for a few alumni. For most clubs in Prem they have huge academies that develop players for Div one, two, National league clubs for free or peanuts..Brentford have it right, they did the Math! as they say and thought it's a fking rubbish system this.

Can he play in CL for Bayern ?

I actually think that Pep will be interested in what he is doing. He compared him to Lahm before ... and today he was playing together on the wing with Müller and Sane - he all knows them very well - it was Lahm, Müller and Robben during his time!

Today Cancelo had an assist for the first goal, Müller for the second and in the third Müller had the preassist and Sane the goal.
Pep wont be interested in what he is doing , he is concentrating on our players , our club

Those mentioning the sending off. It was very harsh. Several worse ones for other teams went unpunished recently. So would be disappointed if that was the Pep's reason for freezing him out.
At his best he is a wonderful player but even when playing well he had a bit of a mard arse look about him.

wonderful player for 6 weeks a season

I think he had to go, but certainly wouldn’t describe it as “great business”.
If we get the set fee then it will be good business and then we get to decide if his replacement is any better

Be interested in what happened at the world cup, he was dropped for the second game and made minor headlines due to Ronaldo also dropped.
Did our Portuguese player's have a falling out that ended up on our training ground hence Pep having to deal with it.
As the manager media is saying Pep was the reason but it could be he stepped in to sort it out and Cancelo lost it with him, sometimes you overstep the mark and at the end of the day Pep is the manager.
Portugal manager also gone so perhaps it got tasty.
