he never seems to beat his man and 9 times out of ten he loses the ball

Obviously they do have a link.

You are hardly going to say 'Oh I think Raheem is a brilliant player but a little racist abuse might improve his finishing'.

It's not a huge leap from saying he's a waste of space, complete shit etc to racist abuse.

So what are you saying, we cannot criticise black players because doing so is not a huge leap from racial abuse?

Of course that would be nonsense. For me, the very essence of racism is treating people of a certain skin colour or ethnicity differently. Doing so is the very opposite of what should happen - that someone's skin colour or ethnicity should be completely irrelevant.

And if a player is playing crsp, he/she should expect fans to be free and able to say so, without others thinking they are racist.

I don't usually post on this particular thread as player performances can fluctuate as we all know. For example, until the past couple of games after his return from injury KDB wasn't that great, by his standards. I have been a big fan of Raz, and I still am, but only a blind man could claim that this is just a mere blip in form. TBH he's been out of sorts all season. Whatever the reason for this, a solution has to be found by either the player himself or by Pep. In the situation which we now find ourselves we surely can't keep picking a player who continually runs down blind alleys and who has lost his touch in front of goal. I really hope he turns this around in training - if he doesn't then Pep should leave him on the bench until he does. We can't carry any passengers. He's a shadow of his former self right now and to be brutally honest not worth a place in the starting XI. Class is permanent so hopefully he'll sort it out asap - we'll need everyone to be on top form in the weeks to come.
Well said. If we are to progress through the CL we need 11 players playing well, not 10.

Of course you cannot guarantee all 11 will have a good game every time, but sure as hell you cannot kick off knowing one of them isn't going to.

Bernie was bad for a whole season , john longer , you get my drift , it has been non stop since he got here , give him a break and be patient ,those who say sell him are ridiculous
Right on. Sterling has been one of our more consistent goalscorers the past seasons. He's bang out of form right now, but I'd say he's more than earned himself some patience and time. Some folks on here are too quick to rid our players.

I love Sterling when he's on form.

Currently though, based on the squad, he doesn't make the starting 11. It's a tough call as I think Pep is hoping he'll play himself back into form given game time, we don't have that luxury at this stage of the season.

I thought he started the game really brightly. His movement, link up play, touch were all better for the break he's had out of the team. In many respects though with the sheer bloody minded negativity of Everton's tactics made it very very hard for him to find any real spaces. He was desperate to score and good to see him taking on a shoot on sight policy.

It's money time after the international break and we're going to need all of the forwards because honestly I've got almost no faith in Kun coming back. Raz, Mahrez, Foden, Jesus, (and Torres) have the quadruple in their hands.

Should only be used in league games as either sub or as a starter once league sewn up.

Should be no where near Cup games, we can ill afford any unnecessary risk.

I actually think the international break might do him some good. Hopefully he’ll come back with a spring in his step for the business end of the season.

Shocking post. But not surprising. Yes, you can hide behind "it's just my opinion" but it's a shocking take. One that seems more interested in just arguing with someone who has dared praise Sterling rather than any interest in a real discussion.

I actually thought he looked livelier yesterday already. His movement and general demeanour was better really good. Especially first half. I get the feeling he needs not just a goal, but he needs one of those 25 yarder's to curl into the top corner.
