I thought he was excellent tonight and capped it with a ridiculous goal.
It was in someways a throwback to the Sterling we saw in 17/18 where we played against teams most weeks that didn’t just stick 11 men behind the ball. When he has the space in behind, his pace and especially his movement are deadly. Even the 1st goal tonight, he didn’t touch the ball but look at his movement and the space he created for Cancelo.
It’s almost like as we have gotten better over the years, and teams have become more and more shit-scared of us, it’s robbed Sterling of the kind of situations in behind he was able to get tonight.
