Desperate for him to stay. He has another couple of seasons at his current level.

For me, he's the most underrated midfielder in the history of the Prem. Understatedly brilliant for years now.

By all means we would like Ilkay to stay. Pep in the press conference before Leeds said about that, that more or less he definitely wants Gundogun to stay but the club is above him and the club decides and something to that extent.

Strange that they're not visible in blocking the roads out of Manchester. If Ilkay stayed, the keys to a network of clubs for management are on his desk.

With Rico alongside to do the spadework they could be a formidable partnership and Rico learns from the very best whilst that partnership gives Rodri a rest in as many games as he needs it. The flip to that is maybe Ilke wants a new challenge. Maybe he is looking at David and seeing him thriving at St Sebastian and thinks a change of scenery would be good.

Whatever, we have been fortunate to have him and he joins the lengthening line of legends.

I think it is important to note that Ilkay was playing fairly well until Rudiger gave him the ‘De Bruyne Welcome’.

I think his performance afterward is more on Pep for not recognising he wasn’t quite right after the challenge.

Started well but got worse and worse. Not great tonight. was crying out to be subbed after about 60-70 minutes, certainly should have come off when he picked up a booking.

A vital assist. I am not sure I would start him in the second leg but Pep will keep Gundo in the side.

He tired in 2nd half and gave the ball away too many times , we needed fresh legs , and Foden should have came on , he has the ability to play central midfield and rotate the ball.

I think he's told Barcelona he will sign in the Summer. Busquets just announced he will leave at the end of the season.
