Fucking hell. A decade that gave us Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Talk Talk, Blancmange, Tears for Fears etc etc cannot be called "absolute pap".

It got pap later on with the Americanisation of the charts, crappy ballards and SAW but from 80-85...what a time.

Especially if you liked the synth stuff.

Sorry mate didn’t like any of those bands you’ve mentioned and only got into the Smiths in the late 80s
