Exactly....so to say they WOULD have missed that chance and not scored .....is daft....to put it politely;)He didn't say that. Sterling and Jesus DID miss many such chances last year. Yes, of course they scored some too, but they missed many.
I knew he was fast and strong, but it's how quickly he gets up to speed but how slowly he slows down and then sets himself that blows my mind. Two or three strides to get up to speed, one or two to slow down. Scary. And they are constant runs as well. Once the players figure that out even if they don't feed him he's keeping almost their entire back four occupied.I can't stop watching that second goal. Everything about it was perfection. The pass from kev, the movement to create the channel for the run, the pace that leaves the defenders in another timezone, the way he opens his body up at just the right moment, and of course the finish; precision with plenty of rocket fuel. No disrespect to the rest of our exceptional squad of players, but none of them would be capable of replicating a goal like that.
We have an absolute superstar in our ranks, a thoroughbred. I try not to get overly giddy over new signings because there are often many unknowns; but I'm indescribably giddy over this lad.
In fact, bold prediction time. If he spends his entire career with us, and stays relatively injury free, he'll obliterate Shearer's record. Two very big "ifs", but I truly believe it will happen should those caveats be met.
There's no way that Sterling or Jesus would have even reached the pass from Gundo to Erling for the first goal. The ball was somewhat overhit and the reason we scored is that Haaland has freakish pace and a knack for making that run in the first place. What a daft statement.
So Sterling and Jesus didn't score a goal between them then?
Let's hope don't we don't throw away points if he misses a chance this season.
I'd reckon in that same position Jesus would have scored 1 in 3 times, and Sterling 1in 5.Exactly....so to say they WOULD have missed that chance and not scored .....is daft....to put it politely;)
Has anybody got a video of Alf celebrating his second goal? There’s footage of him as the ball gets put through to him and eventually scoring but can’t find it anywhere
I couldn’t believe how fast he was against West Ham but this vid just shows his speed. I dont know how you counter that. Some of the defenders in these clips are not Jogging they are full on sprinting and they can’t catch him, his acceleration is ridiculous
