It was a pre-season game in the beginning of August. Yeah it would be nice to win the trophy, but no one should be taking risks at this stage to get it.

He used it as a chance to get himself fit and ready for the long season, and real games, ahead.

Fair comment, but I think Pep sets out to win every trophy. I don't think he saw it as a 'pre-season' warm-up, otherwise he would have played the likes of Phillips to get him match ready.

One thing that gets me is his pressing , he never nicks the ball off players or presses them quite close enough to put them off, he should learn from jules , he hunts everything down

Yeah but it's not the highest priority and as i said, we don't need to take risks at this stage.

As for Phillips, that's a different story, he just looks happy enough being a very expensive cheerleader!

Every game holds the risk of players getting injured, even in training.
I don't believe in 'holding back' in games at any level. It should be 100% or nothing.

The robot needs to be ,Turn off, then back on after 30 seconds for a reboot .

They need to install this version.

When we have Gvardiol, Kev and Foden on all the pitch he will see loads of chances.

Alvarez needs to do it more too.

Teams sit deep man mark him double treble mark him we need to get the ball to him with crosses but pep seem not like us to cross the ball because the % of losing the ball is high..
Tbf we did plenty crosses from Akanji and Walker yesterday.. some nearly found Alvarez but Rice and co cleared them effortlessly....

Generally not a great idea when you have two strikers both not experts in winning headers and two "fullbacks" not really good at crossing....

I really wish to sign a new fullback but I know it won't happen....

Is it just me or did he get a lot slimmer during last season, when he first came he was huge and players just bounced off him.
A big part of his game is his physicality and he seems to be moving away from that advantage
I think that it is just the new shirt design. Everyone seems a bit slimmer in it. Me included!

I’m sometimes, well often, far too critical of the team…. but some of the nonsense I’ve read in here wow! Erling is an elite goal scorer and needs service. If the team are not creating any chances for him then that’s not Erling fault at all. He is massive and his physical attributes wouldn’t allow him to press like mad every moment of the game particularly in a glorified friendly. Yes he had a bit of a barren run towards the end of last season but when we get back to our creative, fluent best he will score again for fun. I agree his link up play can improve but I think it already has and will continue to get better…. just don’t expect him to ever be a silky skilful player it ain’t what he is built for and Pep knows this.
