9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

The cynic in me prays we don’t have a low(er) release clause in there.

£100m is a huge figure but nowhere near enough for this freak of goal scoring nature.

Would also mean - not like it was in doubt - that his little one will be a Manc too. Another one!
Long term planning...

If having a release clause somewhere between £100m and £150m is the only way to prevent Haaland doing an Mbappe and leaving on a free in 2027, then so be it. Furthermore, the release clause is only relevant if he ever actually wants to leave. He’s not forced to go if someone matches it. Once his kid enters the world, maybe he’ll find the roots he’s put down in England are actually very strong.
150, get 4-5 years out of him (as it stands) and guaranteed triple your transfer fee back. no bad tbf.

There’s no credible link to Barcelona and hardly anything in the press. Not really sure where all this nonsense has come from today.

Even if he had a £100m clause, he’d only go to a handful of clubs and even then, they’d have to have had an upturn in form and finances., given Madrid is a no go due to Mbappé.
Most Erling to RM or Barca rumours comes from "credible" sources like Marca and other spanish outlets close to the clubs. Same procedure as when Aguero played for City. Barca for one can not afford him for years to come.

Don't forget we paid 60 to dortmund, 100 to raiola, 100 to alfie, 100 to erling's uncle and 400k a week + bonuses to Erling.

So if something thinks he's only going to cost 100 mil when he leaves.. they're insane in their calculations.

Exactly, it’s just keeping their fans believing they’re still dining at the top table for players.

There’s been nothing new this week from anywhere though barring Haaland signing a new contract.

Be brilliant if we could get this done and so what about the RC, just the way this kid has always operated that he’s not about clubs making the profit on him.

It’s how we got him and maybe how he leaves, but might give us 2-3 more of years of him.

Plus when he goes, no having to deal with Madrid it will be pay the money or don’t.

Just hope the announcement involves staying humble.
