I thought he played well in the 1st half. Garbage in the 2nd half and the pen topped it off.
That's the second time in his City career that he's tried to smash it high and the second time that he's missed the target, he did the same against Bayern in Munich, he almost always hits it low and scores, why did he change his penalty routine tonight ? simply put he's not right in his head at the moment.Shite penalty but still the best penalty taker currently in the squad.

Exactly this. In his first season he was completely trusting himself, not doing odd uncharacteristic things, and absolutely everything went his way. I don't think that trust in himself is quite there at the moment. And it is certain that the fact that everything seems to rest on him, that he is our sole spearhead (think of the 2011-12 season, when we had three recognised strikers to be rotated) is no good for him, and no good for the team.

One of those nights. Had plenty of chances. Made a mess of a couple, a bit unlucky with a couple. Be more worried if he was going missing and not getting chances. We've far bigger issues in the side just now than him. I've no doubt he'll catch fire again soon.
Right that was a very good one, but even then he probably didn't need to do it, just go low and hard like you always do, no goalie has saved a pen against him in a City shirt, and remember you can hit a pen too high but never too low.Third time.. he scored the one against Spurs!

He also has to be given chances irrespective of a penalty miss.We have no chance if he doesn't take his chances.

I meant he has to outperform the chances and half chances he has for us at the moment. In the first half he could've scored 3 times tbh.

In hindsight, best game to miss a pen if it's going to happen.
For the first time in ages, we looked like we might be willing to play balls in behind for him in the first half just going off our willingness to play it over the top for our wingers but haaland wasn't making the runs.
I don't blame him in the slightest because he spent months doing it and didn't get a single pass but with kev's return nearing hopefully he starts making those again and we bloody well feed him.
We'd be fucked without him.
