Could interpret the poor trainer thing another way though, he was managing his body and fatigue level to enable him to put in the high intensity sprints and top performances in competitive games. Fatigue and lack of recovery time is one of the top causes of muscle injuries.

Carlos Tevez was also accused of being a poor trainer, but gave everything in competition.

Top sprinters don't fun full pelt during heats when they can run at lower level and still qualify. Doesn't make sense to increase fatigue or risk of injury in less important situations.

We aren't talking about a player that has struggled with being overweight or poor conditioning. Much more likely that injuries were due to fatigue.

You have convinced me. Sergio was a great trainer, number one in sprints

Mario and gaz also said it , who cares when he turned it on at game time
Tbf I think they were just talking about it in relation to fitness/injuries. Nobody on here in the right mind could deny what Aguero brought onto the pitch when he was able to play.

22 starts for him in PL and 7 times off the bench. thats his stat from last PL.
and return of 9 goals in 2100 minutes.

I think his goal/minute will be similar but less playing time this time around.
something like :
10 starts, 15 times off from bench
~1100 minutes and around 5 goals?

is that too harsh?

I dont think if will feature much from wings given the addition of Grealish and Foden proving himself from wing too.
while his playing time benefited from Aguero being injured so much.

that if we sign Kane who will be starting when fit I guess.

wonder how far off I will be with above estimate in May 22, hope I underestimate his numbers. and there is some odd chance he leaves this window on loan maybe but hardly any proper transfer linked to him probably not.

i don’t think I heard his name once when he came on. His time at city is over. I’m amazed he’s not gone this summer & we have have 2 new strikers in already

He made that pass to Grealish which was arguably our most dangerous opportunity of the game. It was more than Sterling did.

Jesus has a part to play for us i feel. He is no Aguero that is for sure but he has attributes that compliment us when the rest are on song. That is not a kind way of saying people cover for him either.

Jesus has great movement and gives defenders a hell of a hard time, alone though a decent defense can handle that. Give him someone in sync with him up top and we open teams up much better. Sterling needs to step up more if we are to see the best from both of them imo. If those two can develop a dynamic we would be much better off.

That said if he has a meeting of the minds with Grealish that could work very well to.

Won the ball also back in a manner in our own half which you won't see from Sterling or Mahrez. But of course someone has to write bollocks about him in this thread after a game.

It’s pretty obvious Jesus is not a natural striker. I’ve seen the lad pass out of clear chances or dribble 3/4 times too many. Does not have the mindset of an out and out 9. He’s much more impactful on the wing, which unfortunately for him, is quite the crowded position at the moment for City. Provided we get Kane in, Jesus is another player I wouldn’t mind seeing go. Is what it is at this point with some of these guys.

Like the opportunity he took with both hands last season?

Jesus isn't good enough (imo) as a striker.
Last season was pretty much like the Tottenham game Pep chose to play a winger as a striker, and when he did come on in the 70th minute he put his striker on as a winger, to be fair to Pep he is using Jesus`s work rate as our attack is work shy, given less of a work load perhaps we might see the outstanding player we bought, playing along side Foden should help.

To be fair though - Jesus has a lot of talent. And I don't think he's ever fancied himself as a striker - more of a winger. There was an interview with him long ago along these lines when he was talking to a brazilian reporter about his role in the national side.

Anyhow this more recent article is along the same lines - i.e., Jesus doesn't consider himself to be a pure striker:

I dont get the hates he gets from City fabs. He works his ass off. He was the reason we won Real Madrid 2 years ago . He got us the [emoji817] points.
What is the problem. He doesn't score 20 every season I know that but mabey he will giving the chance. How was Kane his age ?
