Comes on for a cameo, instantly becomes the best of the front 3 and all we get on here is calls for him to leave. Bizarre reaction to a very positive 20 minutes. He looked sharp, very sharp. should have scored, unlucky hitting the post pretty sure it took a deflection on the way, should have buried the rebound but was far better than Grealish or foden in a much shorter time on the pitch.

Unless Pep plays gundogan, Bernardo and kdb in any of the games thus pushing one of them 3 upfront, he simply has to play against Madrid and liverpool and preferably as the 9. His energy gives the team so much in the big games.
He is not good enough for where we need to do go so he needs to move on and thrive in another league . His commitment is second to none and work ethic is fantastic but he is not the striker we need .

IMO this was his season to nail down a place which he has never really done since coming to the club. We don’t have a striker and none of the wingers were ripping it up early season, it was there for the taking for him. A mixture of injuries and up and down form has meant that he is still the same bit-part/squad player he always has been since arriving. It’s hard to see how things change for him should we sign a striker in the summer.

I don’t want him to leave but it seems almost inevitable. Like it might be the best for all involved.

Start of the season he was electric on the wing, then a few niggles coincided with mahrez reaching unbelievable levels and he found himself out of the side. He hasn't really had a run since then to get back in as a certain starter, similar to how stones or laporte couldn't get back in the side over the last 2 seasons.

If he wants to leave then that's a different matter but we have no reason to assume that's the case. even if he remains a bit part player, they have their worth, it's impossible to have a winning squad without bit part players, jesus is different from a lot of our forward players and more than proves his worth to the side every season

He's more than good enough and he's exactly the type of forward we need in certain situations. When Pep wants a high energy game, he turns to jesus. Pep has said numerous times there's no better player on the planet more suited to doing that for him than jesus.

He's nowhere near good enough and, other than a short period of success on the wing, he's regressed significantly since his first season.

Don’t kid yourself that Pep sees him as a key player. While that may seem the case to you this season, you can be sure that as soon as we sign another forward, Jesus will be surplus to requirements. That's a stone cold fact.

I'm pretty sure that Jesus knows his days at City are almost numbered and will be eyeing a move accordingly. Italy beckons....

You can claim he hasn't reached the heights you might have thought he would reach and that wouldnt be unfair but he has not regressed since signing.

I don't believe he's a key player in the same way kdb is a key player but he's a unique player to Pep within the squad and I believe he values that quite highly.

Why is he automatically surplus to requirements if we sign a striker when he hasn't even been playing as a striker? It's a baseless statement. We dont know how our squad will transform but there's probably space in our squad for upto 2 more forward players this summer if we do some reshuffling without anybody leaving, we are actually quite under stocked in attack and if somebody does go, it could just as easily be any of the forwards not named Foden.

Neither of us has a clue whether he will leave us or not, but what I will say is there's no way Pep pushes jesus out the door, he only goes if he asks to.

I didn't say 'striker', I said 'forward'.

Jesus is a passenger in our current squad imo. I reckon we'll take the first offer over £35m in the summer.

If Jesus is a passenger, then Grealish should be on the roof rack.
Grealish was signed to play in a different system. When he arrived, we were 99.99% certain that Harry Kane was coming to City.

Levy played the 0.01% card and the rest is history. Pep's plans for the Grealish/Kane combo went on the back burner but we can expect to see them resurrected in some form when a genuine striker arrives. That's when we can start to judge Grealish, not before.

Jesus has muffed so many chances to be a big star at City it's almost embarrassing.
